Manchester Unity Lodge Notes
The Manchester Unity 1.0.0. F. held its usual fortnightly meetinglast night. There were 56 members present presided over by Bio. J. W. Parker, N.G. A large amount of important correspondence was dealt with over which much discussion ensued. Two new members were iniated into the order, Sister Sumich and Bro. Wr-'ght acting as conductors. The report and balance sheet of the recent dance was presented, this showing a m jst satisfactory position. One member was reported on the sick list. Supper having been served, members were entertained at a presentation of the play, “Aunt Lizzie’s Friend,” presented by the members of the Kaitaia Women’s Institute—winners of the first prize in the recent drama festival. The play was produced by Sister A. Bagley who used her talents with most excellent results, much to the amusement of the audience. The next meeting of the lodge will be held on October 25th when a number of district officers will be present. The first nomination of officers for the ensuing term will also take place on this night. As this will be a most important meeting it is desired that as many members as possible be present.
