Town Board Meeting Next Week A meeting of the Kaitaia Town Board will be held in the Council Chambers, Kaitaia, on Monday next, 10th inst., at 7.30 p.m. s ☆ ☆ ☆ Old Secretary Farewelled ; New Secretary Welcomed At the meeting of the Bay of Islands Power Board last Friday the chairman, Mr. A E. Bisset, extended a welcome to the Board’s permanent secretary, Mr. W. S. Thorpe, who, though not actually entering the Board’s employ until the next day (October 1) was present at the meeting. Mr. Thorpe was a man of undoubted ability, said Mr. Bisset, and it was indeed a pleasure to welcome him to their midst. The chairman also had the duty (though not this time a pleasure) of bidding goodbye to their provisional secretary, Mr. C. McKinnon. Mr. Bissett said he had known Mr. McKinnon for many years and held him in high regard, both personally and professionally.

These views were shared by other members, after which Messrs. Thorpe and McKinnon returned thanks.
