Meeting of Committee
A meeting of the committee of the County Returned Soldiers’ Association was held at Kaitaia on Friday evening when the chief business transacted was the Land Policy of the Association.
Other matters dealt with were : Christmas Cheer.—lt was decided that owing to the improved conditions there was not the need for the distribution of special grants to returned men and their families this Christmas as has been done for the past few years. Arrangements will be made, however, for a gift to every child in the County hospital on Christmas Eve.
Routine business and relief grants were also considered. General Meeting A general meeting of the Association will be held in the Masonic Hall, Kaitaia, on Friday next, the 10th inst. Occasion will be taken at this meeting to extend congratulations to the secretary, Mr. J. O’Sullivan. Kaitaia Horticultural Society A meeting of the committee of the Kaitaia Horticultural Society was held on Tuesday afternoon when the financial statement in connection with the recent Spring Show was submitted by the treasurer, Mr. W. H. Farrimond. This showed a very satisfactory position.
