WEDDING.

Taylor - Hughes

A very pretty wedding was solemnised on Boxing Day at St. Saviour’s church, Kaitaia, when Gwendoline Una, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hughes of Invercargill, was married to Mr. Fred Taylor of Kaitaia. Rev. E. Blackwood Moore was the officiating minister, and Mr. W. R. Langley presided at the organ.

The bride, who entered the church

on the arm of Mr. C. McKinnon, wore a slim-fitting frock of ivory satin with an ivory embroidered tulle veil held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, and carried a sheaf bouquet of carnations. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Daphne Coulter who wore a frock of pink crepe matalasse and a picture hat. She carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Jack Taylor, as bestman. The reception was held at the Masonic hall, where the guests were received by Mrs. Taylor, mother of the bridegroom, who wore autumntinted uncrushable crepe, and Mrs. Graham, whose frock was of navy blue crepe-de-chine. A short toastlist was honoured, the Rev. Mr. Moore acting as toastmaster. A beautifully-decorated two-tier wedding cake was cut by the bride and handed round. The happy couple left by car amid the good wishes of their many friends, the bride travelling in a blue linen costume and navy accessories.
