In order to avoid the necessity of a short session of Parliament early next year the Government has decided to bring down a considerable amount of fresh business this session, as a result of which Parliament may not adjourn until the end of next month, or some time in November.
Recent figures show that there are 10,559,000 persons employed in Britain— the highest ever recorded for the country.
