No county competition cricket matches were played last Saturday. There are nearly 600 registered unemployed men in the Mangonui county. Flood damage has already cost the County Council about £3OO. The Northern Star and Koa Rebekah Lodges of Kaitaia, hold their combined annual picnic at Houhora last Sunday when a large number of members and their friends gathered, and under ideal weather conditions, spent a most enjoyable day’s outing. It is intended to call a meeting shortly in Kaitaia, with the view of re forming the Kaitaia Aero Club. There are, in this district, a number of persons interested in aviation, and in the advancement of air transport for this district, so it is anticipated that the Club will be well supported. Mr. Roy Johnston is President and Mr. H. Timbers is Secretary of the old Club.
