A VICIOUS CIRCLE
Wars bring debts and wars bring depressions and depressions bring still more debts. The wars themselves the fearful cost of preparing for these wars, the price of maintaining armies and navies and fortifications as the result of fear that war may come again, and the interminable bill for pensions, hospitalisation, bonuses, and institutional care, bankrupt nations and keep millions of people in bondage. Did any good ever come out of any war that was not far outweighed by much greater evil ? Louisville (U.S.A.) Courier-Journal. German Interest in New Zealand’s Labour Government Mr. Savage stated to a Press representative that keen interest was being taken in the Government’s work beyond the shores of New Zealand, and he remarked that just recently he had received from a German newspaper a request for his photograph. The newspaper added that it had everything else it needed, the inference apparently being that news of the Labour Government and its objectives had reached Germany.
