Methodist Church Variety Fair at Oruru

On Thursday last a very successful Variety Fair was held in the Oruru Hall in aid of the Methodist Church funds. The arrangements were carried out by the Oruru Ladies’ Guild, the Bible Class working up and managing a novelty stall while the Sunday School children contributed to and managed the sweets and drinks stall. The stalls were strikingly decorated with greenery and the Jubilee colours of red, white and blue, which showed to advantage in the fans and streamers. The ladies were very gratified with the culmination of their months of effort which realized £36 11/-. Their grateful thanks are tendered to all willing helpers and to patrons for their attendance.
