TAKAHUE

The Takahue Women’s Institute held their May meeting on Tuesday, Mrs. H. Carr presiding. The roll call was “A sponge fi ling” or “My Birthplace”. Mrs. H. Carr gave a demonstration on “Dressmaking. Mrs. A. Rogers was appointed assistant secretary. The following are the results of the monthly competitions— SENIOR: A Baby’s Singlet—Mrs. A. Rogers 1, Mrs. 0. Irving 2. Three Carrots—Mrs. H. Carr 1, Mrs. Quarterman 2. JUNIOR: A serviette—Miss M. Carr 1, Miss Elina Rogers 2. - Games and community singing followed. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames J. Kitchen and J. Warner, and Misses Una Bastard and L. McCullough.
