Mangonui—7.3o p.m. Rev. A. Johnston CATHOLIC CHURCH Bishop Liston, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, arrived in the district on Thursday, after a visit to tbe Northern Hokianga. His Lordship will leave again on Sunday for tbe Whangaroa district. * * * * A very impressive ceremony will take place in fthe Roman Catholic Church, Awanui, at tbe 9 o’clock mass, on Sunday November 4tb, when over forty children from Kaitaia, Awanui and the neighbouring districts, will receive their first Holy Communion. His Lordship, Bishop Liston, will be tbe celebrant of the Mass. During tbs Mass, tbe “Kyrie”, “Sanctus” and “Benedictus” from St. Celia’s Mass in B Flat, will be rendered by tbe Rev. Father Lockwood and Mrs. Gunson. After Mass tbe children will adjourn to tbe Awanui Hall where breakfast will be awaiting them. In the afternoon at 2 p.m., bis Lordship, Bishop Liston, will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation which will -be followed by Benediction of tbe Blessed Sacrament.
