Meets Deputation at Mangonui

On Tuesday morning the Minister and his party having stayed overnight at Kaitaia, left for Mangonui, where a deputation from the Civic League, was received.

The question of the consolidation over the whole County of the Western Area’s Loan of £54,000 was brought forward by Mr. R. T. Wrathall, who pointed out tbe injustice of such a proceeding. Tbe deputation also protested against the proposal to close til# courthouse at Mangonui and urged tbe contruction of several access roads to settlers.

The deputation's requests were supported by the member for tbe district and tbe Minister promised to give tbe requests every consideration, and bring tbe questions raised before tbe other ministers concerned.
