Annual Meeting of the Fairburn’s Ladies’ Guild

The annual meeting of the Fairburn Methodist Ladies’ Guild, was held on Wednesday, May 2nd. in the Church, when eleven members were present, and the Rev. Mr. A. Johnston was in the Chair. Mrs. Metcalfe, the President, welcomed Rev. Johnston in a few well chosen words, and then the Secretary and Treasurer read their reports. The Balance Sheet showed a credit of £ls which was considered very satisfactory. The election of officers then ensued, which resulted as follows. — President —Mrs. IVletcalfe Vice-presidents—Mesdames H. K. Pricker and J. W. Dawson Secretary and Treasurer—Mesdames Chapman and Foster respectively The membership subscription was discussed, and it was decided to make it 2/6 per year, payable in advance. A Bring and Buy is to be held on June 13th. Friends are asked to keep this date free. A donation of £5 was voted to the Circuit and the Rev. Johnston thanked the Guild on behalf of the Circuit and assured the meeting of his personal appreciation. This being all the business, the mooting closed with the Benediction, and afternoon tea was served in the vestry.
