Meeting of Northern Dairy Factory Suppliers
A meeting of dairy factory suppliers of Waiharara and Motutangi districts was held in Sihoj’s Hall, Waiharara last week end, with Mr. T. Morning acting ns chairman. A representative gathering of suppliers was present and an interesting discussion was held on the possibility of a daily service on the northern run. The following motions were put to the meeting and carried unanimously. “That the directors be asked to inaugurate a daily cream service between Houhora and the factory. “That tenders be called for the cartage « of the cream. "That in the event of our present application being refused we send a deputation to the directors." The meeting then proposed the following suppliers to form a deputation if necessary—Messrs W. Steed (Waiharara), Blanchard (Motutangi) and W. Evans (Houhora). It was decided by those present to form a Northern Settlers League for the purpose of guarding the interest of the settlers in the Far North. Mr. V. Wilcox was appointed to act as secretary.
