Welcome to Rev, A. Johnston

The residents of Oruru headed by the newly formed Bible Class held a very enjoyable social in the Oruru Hall to we'come the Rev. A. Johnston to their midst. A large number turned /out to greet Mr. Johnston who was not quite a stranger as lie visited the north some years ago in charge of the Methodist hook Van.

The evening passed very pleasantly with songs, pianoforte items, recitations and dances. Very well received items were rendered by the Sunday School children, Miss Flora Forsyth in a Highland dance and little Miss Joan Garton in a Hungarian dance were both encored. The little girls of the Sunday School assisted in serving a very dainty supper which brought a very pleasant evening to a close.
