In order that the tamariki may go with the parents to Waitangi to take part in the celebrations in February, the Christmas holidays in the Native schools in the North have been extended a week.
*** * * Meeting Bay Farmers’ Union Executive
A meeting of the Bay of Islands Sub-Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union will be held in the Soldiers’ Clubroom, Ohaeawai, next Wednesday, January 10, at 10.30 a.m.
Fishing from Deep Water Cove, Bay of Islands, on New Year’s Day, Mr. H. White-Wickham, of London, caught a mako shark weighing 3781 b. On the same day Mr. C. Beaufort, of Wellington, who was fishing from the launch “Reliance,” caught a mako shark weighing 2531 b.
