Rules for Tennis Club Buttons Competition

The following rules have been laid down by the Kaitaia Tennis Club Committee for the competition for the buttons : All challenges to be pasted on sheets in the club house and challenging parties are advised accordingly, Players to chose own partners for Doubles and Combines. Ladies’ singles, doubles and combines best of 13. Men’s doubles and singles best of 17. Challengers to be met within 4 days of date of challenge. Balls to be provided by challenger and must be either new or else approved of by both parties. The first six men and first six ladies are not eligible to compete. Matches may he played on Saturday afternoons, provided that the sanction of either the Secretary or the Captain he first obtained. Tlie following were drawn as first holders of the buttons:—Men's Singles A. Jenkins. Ladies' Singles—Miss A. Tracey. Combines —Miss Stewart and Satterthwaite. Men’s Double—Mockett and Mills. Ladies’ Doubles—Misses Smith and Mclntosh.
