Results of Games At Awanui last Saturday the local group of schools defeated the Fairburn group team by 15 points to nil. * * * * Ahipara-Pukepoto Schoolboys defeat Kaitaia The Kaitaia School boys suffered their first defeat this season when they met the Ahipara-Pukepoto team last Saturday at Ahipara. The score was 3 points to nil against Kaitaia. The Ahipara-Pukepoto forwards were a heavier pack than their opponents and they used this extra weight to advantage having the better of the game in the tight but the Kaitaia boys showed to better advantage in the loose. The Kaitaia backs saw little of the ball, they having a strenuous time in hoiding the seaside vanguard from breaking through. After the score had been registered againit them, the Kaitaia forwards made great efforts to equalise but the dash came too late in the game to be effective.

There was a very strong cross wind blowing right through the match. The winning try was scored by Morgan Nathan who securing the ball from a loose scrum near the line dived over near the corner. Pukepoto-A bipara were unfortunate in losing one of their best players, their half, early in the game, lie collided with one of his own men and had to retire but was not badly hurt. Mr. Houston was referee. The two head teachers, Messrs P. Braik and T. Gracie and Mr. Shirley Masters who have been coaching their boys are to be congratulated on the success of their efforts.
