Farmers’ Union.

KAITAIA BRANCH A meeting of the Kaitaia Brunch of the Farmers’ Union was held on Thursday last when there was only a moderate attendance of members presided over by Mr. T. 8. Houston. A resolution was passed protesting to the Government against the proposed Central Bank Bill. A further resolution calling on the Government to set up a Parliamentary Committee to enquire into the monetary system of New Zealand with the view to the reform thereof was also carried. A committee was also set up to approach otlier branches in the district with the view of united efforts in placing before the people the urgent need of the reform of the currency and credit position in New Zealand. Matters effecting the Union were also discussed in committee.
