San Francisco mails close at 1.30 p.m. at Auckland on July 10th, August 7th, September 4th, October 2nd, October 30th, November 27tli, December 25th, January 22nd, 1934, February 19th, March 19th, April 16th, May 14th, June 11th, July 9th.

The Bay of Islands Harbour Board will hold a meeting at the Library, Kawakawa, on Thursday, July 27, at 10 a.m.

The next meeting of the Hokianga County Council will be held on Tuesday, August 15. A Harbour Board meeting will be held prior to .the Council meeting.

Among the new Justices of the Peace appointed last week are Messrs. H. T. Bates, Kerikeri; W. J. Edginton, Whangaroa ; O. J. J. Fisher, Fairburn ; G. C. Hansen, Purerua ; R. P. Harrison, Kohukohu; L. M. Lane, Totara North; R. B. Russell, Rawene; Hoori Tane, Oromahoe; F. W. Voelcker, Kerikeri. Advice has been received that it is the present intention of the New Zealand delegation to the Economic Conference to leave Southampton for New York by the Aquitania on August 5 and connect with the Makura, which is to sail from San Francisco for Wellington on August 30. Kemp Diaries to be Placed in Auckland Public Library Miss Charlotte Kemp of Kerikeri has consented to place the diaries and copies of correspondence of her grandfather, Mr. James Kemp (who came to New Zealand in 1819 with the Rev. Samuel Marsden on his second visit) in the Auckland Public Library on condition that typed copies suitably bound are supplied to her in place of the originals. The documents contain information of great value to the student of N.Z. history.
