Mrs. E. Ramsey, of Kaitaia, is away in Auckland. Miss D. Mclntosh, of the staff of the Kaitaia Dairy Factory office, is visiting Auckland on holiday. Matron Black, of the Mangonui hospital, is away on a month’s vacation. Nurse Millar is Acting-Matron during.her absence. Mr. A. S. McMurtrie, M.A., and Mr. H. McChesney, School Inspectors, were in the North during the week, and spent the wx'.-ond at Mangonui. Two visitors from Australia, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, are visiting the Far North, and spent a day this week at the Redan Hotel, Kaitaia. There have been a number of Government officials visiting Kaitaia lately. Mr. W. Cooper, Native Land Consolidation officer, and Mr. M. A. Findlay, Director of the Native Land Development Work, left on Tuesday after a week’s stay. Mr. T. T. Ropiha, a Government surveyor, spent three days in Kaitaia this week, and Messrs. Shankland and Lee, of the Public Works Department are also here.
