Kaitaia Benefit Dance

In the true spirit of Oddfellowship to hold out a helping hand to a brother, the members of the two Kaitaia lodges combined in giving a dance in the A. and P. Hall on Thursday night to assist Bro. Phil. Gilbert, a wellknown and very popular citizen of Kaitaia, who has been seriously ill. There was a very large gathering, and with the floor in firstclass dancing condition, and with Mr. M. Thornell as Master of Ceremonies the programme went through with a swing, there never being a dull moment. Kaitaia’s best musicians freely gave their assistance, and with the Rialto, Versatile and Juvenile Orchestras, assisted by Mrs. H. A. Timbers and Miss Beazley as extras, the music left nothing to be desired. For the supper interval the lady lodge members had provided bountifully of good things, which duly went the way of all good things. Among the visitors was the member for the district, Mr. H. M.
