POSITION OF ORURU.

TO PLAY IN WHANGAROA UNION. PERMISSION THIS YEAR. Permission for the Oruru Football Club’s teams to play in the Whangaroa Union this year was granted by the Mangonui Rugby Union at Monday evening’s meeting. Round the decision centred considerable argument, which at times developed some heat. Mr. W. Grant spoke strongly in favour of the club playing in the Whangaroa Union, a good argument being put up. It was stated the return of Oruru to Mangonui now would mean that the Whangaroa Union would drop out of football. On the motion of Mr. G. Moore, seconded by Mr. J. Paton, it was decided to grant the Oruru Club permission to play in the Whangaroa Union this year.
