FARMERS’ UNION PICNIC.

MARRED BY WET WEATHER, f SPORTS TO BE HELD LATER. The wet weather on New Year’s t Day was responsible for the poor attendance at the Farmers’ Union picnic at Pukepoto. Only about forty people were present. The food in the kapa maori was , cooked to Defection and; a crowd having been catered fotj-™ much was left over. It was decided to hold picnic at Ahipara on January when races and games for children will be held and the prizes donated by the business people of Kaitaia will be given out.
