Anzac Memorial Service

A memorial service was held in the Fairburn Church on Thursday evening last, Anzac Day, in memory of those who had fallen during the Great War. The memorial tablet in the Church, which waserrected in 1922, was draped »ilh the Union Jack, and the N.Z. Flag, and decorated with a number ot beautiful wreaths. The Rev. Kings of Kaeo, assisted by Rev. Grice of Mangonui, conducted the service. Mr Kings delivered a very tine address and read the names on the tablet of those who had given their lives during the war, after which the Dead March was played on the Church organ by Mrs J P Coulter. The service was concluded with the pronouncing of the benediction and by singing the National Anthem. The service was well attended, a number of Returned Soldiers being present.
