Rev R Grice left for the Sou h yesterday and will be awir about a month. * Mr Hamblyn of the Department of Agriculture, who is stationed at Whangarei paid one of his periodical visits to this district last week. Mr A Johnson of Auckland will fill Rev R Grice’s position during his absence. Miss Alma Johnston, daughter of the Rev. R H Johnson of Helensville, and late of Kaitaia, recently underwent a serious operation in the Auckland Hospital. She is now making slow progress towards recovery. Mrs A H Puckey leaves on Thursday for Whangarei where shelwill spend the Easter holidays with her daughter. Mr L R Martin, NZ representative Wngleys (Ausl.) Ltd. was a visitor to Kaitaia during the week. Mr Martin is a sou ot Mr Lee Martin M.P for Raglan. Mr and Mi s Lindsay Gordon of Hawkes Bay and the Misses A C and M Blyth and Mrs W H Blyth of Paranui, paid a visit to the Kaitaia district and the Ninety Mile Beach du- ing the week. Mr E C Matthews left Kaitaia for Auckland on a business trip yesterday. Mr W Parker returned from his holiday, spent in the South, on Tuesday last.
