Recently Mr Barclay, Inspector of Mines-Huntly, arrived in Kawakawa with a view to discussing the terms-of the.Jease as applied for by the local coal prospecting syndicate. He was met by Messrs Leaity. Penny, Bridge and Squire representatives of the syndicate ani of the Kawakawa Chamber of Commerce and after a lengthy discussion an amicable [settlement was made and the syndicate will now apply for a new lease which it is anticipated will be granted.on much more favourable terms than the previous one. \ '
