Wedding Bells.
Urlich-Simich
The wedding was celebrated at the Lake Ohia public hall on June 2, of Slovinka Simich second daughter of Mr and Mrs Simich of Tgrane and John Urlich second son ot Mrs and the late Mr Mate Urlich of Drasnice both of Dalmacia. The Rev. Father O’Callaghan performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father wore a frock of white embossed crepe de chene with diamente trimmings, the bridal veil being secured by a coronet ot orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink and white flowers with white streamers.
Miss B Pribicevich was bridesmaid and MrsLovich was Matron of Honour. The two Misses Urlich were train-bearers.
Mr D J Urlich carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony, the wedding breakfast was served at Mr Urlich’s residence where the usual toast list was honoured. Rev. Father O’Callaghari in proposing the toast of the bride and bridegroom, wished the newly married couple happiness for their future. The toast was responded to by Mr D J Urlich on behalf of his brother and Mrs Urlich and was heartily applauded. His address was as follows :
Rev Father, ladies and gentlemen, —On behalf of my brother ana his wife I have to thank you for the kind expressions and good wishes you have tendered them, and if good wishes are counted for anything then their success is assured. Now I find myself in a similar position to a young lady, who was taken in a car by a young man to a tourist office. On their arrival she tendered the payment for her fare, but the young man declined and expressed a desire to meet her again. She declined however, remarking that in future she would look before leaping into a motor-car. Through Mr Simich losing his daughter my .brother has gained a wife. Mr Simich Jr., must feel as I felt twenty years ago when only a tamaiti and my sister was parted from me under similar circumstances. It was a beautiful June day too when my sister was married. It was a very sad affair then, but to-day I feel happier because I have gained a sister.
