Man Found Drowned
Body in Back River Believed to be Mr George Taylor Recovered This Afternoon
Shortly after 2 p.m to-day news was received by the Police that an overturned car had been discovered in Back ;Creek near Mangonui, and the body of a man believed to be Mr George Taylor road contractor of Oruru, was lying in a pool of water.
Deceased left Mangonui on Monday evening, intending to return next day to show his man where to erect a stone crusher. As he had not put in an appearance, some anxiety was felt as to his saTety.
Mr T Hayden happened to be riding into Mangonui on a lorry, when he saw the overturned car. He investigated and found the bodv of a man believed to be that of Mr Taylor lying in a pool of water. The police were notified and have gone to the scene of the tragedy.
