Five Deaths Reported Road Traffic Suspended The memorable scenes of the snow blockade last Christmas have been re-enacted in many parts of England. Five deaths due to the snowfalls are reported. Scores of villages are isolated and road traffic is at a standstill. Motor cars have been left derelict deep in snow drifts. In parts of Essex the snow drifts are 15ft in depth. Snowstorms raged all day long in Westmorland, Yorkshire, Durham and Derbyshire, virtually isolating those countries. Sheep rearing areas are suffering find scores cf lamos have been lost. Snow ploughs are in operation on many of the railways. It is still intensely cold aud there is evety likelihood of the same weather conditions continuing for a week.
