Follies Revue
Visit to Oruru Mangonui X-Ray Plant Benefit
On Tuesday evening at Oruru the Follies Revue were greeted with a bumper house. The artistes as usual performed very well indeed and merited the applause tendered them. Despite the very inclement weather conditions prevailing the people from both Eastern and Western Area turned out in large numbers. The ballet girls with their pretty costumes danced prettily in their various items. The sketches too were gone through without a hitch. The songs were greatly appreciated.
Little Joan Langley, as the “Little Charleston Wonder,” delighted the audience with her version of the reigning dancing craze, and looked very sweet in her little frock of silver and emerald, with head dress en suiteA dance followed the performance and was largely attended.
The X-Ray at the Mangonui Hospital will benefit to the sum of £3O as the outcome of this venture.
