Mr Sid Christensen of Kaiaka who has been an inmate at the Mangonui Hospital for some time is now at home progressing favourably.

Mr. Duncan arrived last week to commence on the building opperations at the Fairburn School. Master Leslie Foster of the Mount Albert Grammar School is spending his term holidays with his parents at Fairburn. Mr S Stevens of Fairburn who was clerk at the Bank of New Zealand, Kaitaia, for some time, has now taken a similar position at Pukekohe.

Mr W Timms Head-teacher at Fairburn School left for Auckland last Thursday. The Misses Moore, Walker, and Stewart of the Kaitaia School teaching staff returned last night from Auckland. -Mr. J. Rowe of Herekino, was in Kaitaia yesterday. Mr. G. Slane, headmaster of the Kaitaia School has returned after spending the midwinter term holidays in Auckland. Mrs. W. Vickers of Herekino has been asked to officiate as one of the judges of the dresses at the Childrens’ Fancy Dress Ball next week. Mr. R. Walker returned from Auckland to-day. Mr. Vincent May of Ohaeawai attended tha Kaitaia Cattle Sale yesterday,^ Mr. Nelson of Poroti was a visitor to Kaitaia during the week. Mr. A. Watson is on a visit to Whangarei.
