An inquiry into the burning o: Mrs. Jessie Subruzky’s house a Awanui was held at Kaitaia or October 1/ betore Mr. Levein S.M. and Detective De Norville The finding was the house was wilfully burnt down on Septem ber 20th by a' Native namec Charlie Thomas. Thomas, whc is 17 years of age, appeared be fore the Supreme Court at Auck land and was sentenced to two years in the Borstal Institute Invercargill. Reserved judgment in the case . C. A. Wallace v F. Thomas has been given, judgment being foi plaintiff for £57,17/-. This wa< an action for alleged breach of r ' share-milking agreement, plaintiff claiming £l5O.
