THAT TELEGRAM.

HERE IT IS. In April, 1923, Mr. Allen Bell, M.P., sent the following telegram to the Minister of Public Works : “Have just completed a tour of the whole of Hokianga County and part of Whangaroa. At largely attended meetings I nave urged the people to sk the Government to abandon further railway construction north of Okaihau and to ask that the money allocated to the railway be cxpended on the construction of our arterial and main roads for mot O' traffic. I have every where received splendid support. Will advise you further when I have completed the tour. In the meantime might I suggest that you defer further operations regarding railway construction.” The above is a copy of the telegram sent arid it will be particularly noted that Mr.Beil urged ihe people to ask the Government to abandon further railway work north of Okaihau. Electors now have the plain truth of the matter and they must seriously a-k themselves if such a min is worthy of further trust.
