NORTHLAND PICTURES
An excellent programme is listed tor screening next Saturday night. In “North of Nevada,” a series of complicated adventures that mingle thrills and laughs, form the basis of production. Night and moonlight and cattle on a ranch out in Nevada, a cowboy and a girl, that are deeply in love, and an intriguing cattle boss whose jealousy knows no bounds; a little brother of the girl, whose love for his sister and whose deep regard for the cowboy prompts him to risk his life to save them — all this is graphically shown in the great western Master Picture, with Fred Thomson as the cowboy, Hazel Keener as the girl, and little Joe Butterworth as the boy brother. The third round of “The Leatherpushers” and the excellent Northland Orchestra complete the entertainment. COMING WEDNESDAY.
An exceptionally entertaining picture will be screened next Wednesday night. It is “Her Temporary Husband” The story treats with a girl who must marry within twenty-four hours -to earn a fortune. Eager for the money but not for the husband that goes with it, the girl plans to marry an old man who is not expected to live more than a few months. She goes through with the ceremony, later to find that the chap she marries is very, very much alive—a youthful admirer who had disguised himself and changed places with the supposed bridegroom at the last minute. That is but the barest outline of the plot. Complications follow complications, every one adding to the ludicrousness of the situation and leading up to an explosive climax. SATURDAY I2th. Grand star programme. Watch for it.
