Friends of Mrs. H. B. Matthews were sorry to learn of the death of her mother, Mrs. Christina Heath, which sad event took place at Auckland on August 23rd. The late Mrs. Heath, who was 72 years of age, was the relict of the late Mr. T. D. Heath, and was a native of Auckland. She leaves a family of seven sons and three daughters to mourn their loss. Mr. Horace Green, who has been transferred to Auckland, was farewelled by his mates at the Kaitaia Post Office last week, Mr. H. A. Munn presenting him with a lea.her case and toilet requisities. Mr. Joseph Ogle, an old and respected resident of Hokianga, died at Rangiahua on August 23rd. Mr. T. H. Kenny, who has been in Wellington on Racing Club business, returns to-morrow. His representations re the racecourse were successful. The wedding took place at Kaingaroa on August I2th of Miss Irene A. Atkinson, of Kaingaroa, and Mr. Herbert E. Champion, of London. Mr. R. Forshaw and family are leaving Kaitaia shortly for Hikurangi, where they will in future reside. They will be missed in Awanui and especially in musical circles.
