FOOTBALL.

Last Saturday’s match between the Mangonui rep team and a team selected from the rest of the players resulted in a win for the “rejects” by 11 to nil. On Saturday next the Broadwood team, holders of the Hokianga club shield, will visit Kaitaia and play the Kaitaia Club team (holders of the Mangonui club championship). The game is sure to be a good one, as the teams are evenly matched. The first rep match of the year will probably be played at Kaitaia on Saturday, Sept. 19th, when a Mangonui Union team will meet Hokianga in a return match. This date has not been definitely fixed. The medals presented by Mr. P. W. Treacher for best senior and junior players have been awarded to C. Peterson (senior) and C. Masters (junior).
