There was a fair yarding at the N. A. Farmers’ Kaikohe Sheep Fair on 25th ult, prices being better than at Ohaeawai. 4 & 6 tooth wethers from 28/6 to 34/-; 2 tooth wethers from £l/8/6 to £l/10/2; s.m. ewes 16/- to £l/l/-; ewes mixed ages £l to 25/-; ewes full and failing mouths 14/II to 18/6, others 10/- to 15/- ; wether lambs shorn 10/- to 16/6 ; cull lambs 8 -to 10/-; Romney rams 1 % gns to 3 % gns. The Farmers Co-op report holding their annual sale of Jersey stock at Mr. C. Stevens, Mangatapere. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the North, including two car loads from the Wairoa, also a couple from Hamilton. Bidding was not quite so good as it has been in past seasons, bui all lines with the exception of a few of Mr. Stevens old favourites were quitted at prices from 18 to 48guineas. The latter price was for Juniper Blue Bell, bought by Mr. C. J. Powell, Opuwhanga. The cows in milk averaged just 30 guineas. The Glenview heifer calves, nine in nnmber averaged 18 gns and the three bulls sold averaged 22 gns. Top price was 46 gns for a son of Sophie’s Tormentor andG olden Fernleaf.
