CHURCH NEWS.
(Fairbum Correspondent). A meeting of the Fairburn Church trustees was held recently, when it was decided to hold the anniversary concert in aid of the Trust Funds on the 27th, followed by three services op Sunday. The secretary, Mr. T. J. Coulter, has the whole matter in hand, and by kind permission of the hall trustees the piano has been lent for this occasion. Mr. Goddard, of Kaitaia, conducted the Methodist service heie on Sunday last, when a good congregation turned out. The quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church was held here on Wednesday last, the Rev. T. G. Brooke, of Auckland, presiding, Kaitaia being represented by Mr. C. W. Parker. It was decided to reorganise the whole circuit, and with this end in view the Minister, Rev. C. H. G. Bycroft, with his stewards, will carry it to • completion. CHURCH OF ENGLAND. Last week the Vicar visited Lake Oltia district, Taipa, and Mangonut, holding services and taking Confirmation classes af various places. The Vicar reports good attendances, and hearty services. A highly successful Church tea was held last week at Elbury, the residence Of Mr. E. W. D. Matthews, in aid of the Awanui Church. A pleasant afterfioon was spent, and a sum of over £lO was raised. Next Sunday the Vicar will take the Ila.m. service at Kaitaia instead of the evening one. It is hoped that Archdeacon' Chatterton will officiate at the evening service. The Kaitaia Sunday School prize giving will take place at the Vicarage on Tuesday, January 23rd, at 1 p.m. All parents are friends are cordially invited. ONE BY ONE BAND. Interesting meetings of the One by One Band have been regularly held once a fortnight. Owing to so many Church functions taking piace at present, meetings of the Band will be held once a month for the coming year. Miss Annie Baker, of Auckland, a prominent member of the One by One Band is expected to visit Kaitaia early in February. During her stay she will be tlier guest of Miss S. C. Matthews". A special meeting of the Band will be held during her visit, at which Miss Baker will give an address on Band work.
