KAITAIA BOWLING CLUB.

When the movement was initiated for the formation of a Bowling Club in Kaitaia it was thought that the work in connection with the green could be started in October. Tenders were called for, but the price put in was too high. Efforts, which we believe will bear fruit, are now being made to start to lay down a halfsize green. A fine site, at a very reasonable price, has been secured from Mr. J. H. Bedggood. A meeting of the Management Committee was held on the 16th, there being present Messrs W. H. Farrimond, President, (in the Chair), McKinnon, Bateman, Bray, J. L. Davies, Crisp, and D. S. White. A Sub-Committee consisting of the President and Messrs. McKinnon, and J. B. Reynolds was set up to report on best means of arrange finance, to report at a meeting on the 19th. Messrs, Heron and Pollock were elected to the Management Committee, vice Messrs. Gtigg and Stitt. Another meeting was held on the 19th. Present: Messrs. McKinnon (in the chair), Bateman, Heron, Davies, Crisp, and White. The report of the Sub-Committee on finance was received. The report recommended the raising of the necessary amount by debentures. The report was adopted, and the secretary wasfinsfructed to arrange for the printing of debentures. It has been decided to start work on the gregn as early as possible, and to employ day labour.
