BOY SCOUT CHURCH PARADE.

A Church Parade of the Boy Scouts was held in the school paddock adjacent to the scouts’ camp at Ahipara. The boys were under the command of Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Colin Wood, and the Rev. W. Elliott, M.A., officiated. The preacher gave a stirring address based on the fourth scout law—“A Scout is a friend to all and a brother to every other Scout, no matter to what social class he belong.” During the address he told the boys if ever they fell out with |nother, to try doing the other fellow a good turn. He cited the case of the good Samaritan, and urged the boys if they found any one in trouble not to pass by on the other side. The singing of a hymn and the brought an instructive meeting to a close. The parade was well attended by parents and friends, an interesting feature being the large number of natives present.
