HARD-UP SOCIAL AT VICTORIA VALLEY.
(Own Correspondent] The Hard-Up Social and Dance held at Victoria Valley on Friday evening, 19th inst., was a great success. There was a fair sprinkling of people from outside in addition to a very good attendance from the Valley. Many of those present dressed the “ hard-up ” part to perfection. Music was supplied by Miss White, and Messrs D. White and Viv. Kitchen acted as M’s.C. Miss Wallace was belle, in a distinctly original get-up. During the evening Mr. J. M. Dawson, assisted by Miss Pearson and Mr. F. Braithwaite, made serious and frivolous charges against many present, and mulcted them in fines which benefited the football club funds to tune of about £lO. The committee extends its thanks to all who assisted.
