Secured a loan of £2,500 and £l,ooo subsidy from Government Formulation of Scheme for the construction of tarred roads throughout the district, and the procuration of up-to-date roadmaking machinery and a Consulting Engineer. Secured procuration of a Road Roller by Mangonui County Council. Formulated a scheme for the Construction of the Northland Highway from Waipapakauri to Auckland. Secured a report from Capt. Bollons, of the Marine Department, on the improvement of the Awanui River for navigation, 1915. Secured a report from Mh J. B. Thompson, Chief Drainage Engineer, on the improvement of the Awanui River for navigation, 1919. Secured visits from Sir William Fraser and the Hon. D. H. Guthrie, Ministers of Public Works and Lands respectively. Secured reserve for Water and Electrical Supply for Kaitaia at Okahu Falls. Secured two Camping Reserves on either side of the Awanui Harbour. Secured provision being made for a Soil Survey of Northland by the Departments Agriculture. Advertised the District and made it one of the best known in the Dominion to day. Secured report on the Sanitation of Kaitaia Town. Assisted settlers to have a school erected ot Rangitihi. Assisted School Coiwnittee to have the Kaitaia School enlarged. I Assisted Victoria Valley settlers to prevent their mail service being cut dowjf. Members of Execujve rendered financial assistance to Old Drainage Bopd to enable it to carry on Formulated schemjffor organisation of the Parliamentary Tour Secured the appointment of a Postmaster at Kaitaia. Secured the instalment of the telegraph system at Kaitaia. Secured the enlargement of the Kaitaia Post Office. Secured the bringing of the Peria Rivers. Secured the direction of Postal Pillar Boxes at Forster’s and Farrimpnd’s stores, Kaitaia. Formulated scheme for the organisation of the North Auckland development Board. Secured analysis and report on the lime deposits of North - land by the Department of Agriculture. THE Chamber is something more "•than an institution.
