A Man Gets Shot.
“ Have you heard the news of Williamson getting shot ?” exclaimed M‘Whirter, as he partly opened the door of the club smoking-room, and excitedly thrust his head and shoulders through the aperture. “ No!” exclaimed several of the members, quite horrorstricken. “ When ? Where did it happen?” they queried in chorus. “ About half an hour ago, down at the ironmonger’s. He bought two pounds of it, and got it all right. I saw him myself.” M'Whirter made off hurriedly.
