WHANG ARE. (From our own Correspondent.) Mr. Wrathall, a candidate for Parliament, addressed a meeting of electors in the Mill Barracks on September 21st. The meeting was not largely attended. Mr. J. Halliday was in the chair and introduced the candidate, who opened by regretting the loss to the electorate of Mr. Houston. Mr. Wrathall mentioned the Gum Industry, Arbitration Act and Railway matters. Numerous questions were put to him which were answered well. The “Mary Isabel” is loaded and ready for sea. She has been very quickly loaded and will sail on September 23rd. It is uncertain when the Rio Loge will be able to sail on account of her deep draft and the heavy sea on the bar. The Mill is almost out of logs and the Company are wishing for a fresh to bring down the logs that are in the dams and creeks. Wbangape, 22/9/08.
