VICTORIA VALLEY.

(From our own Correspondent.)

The stream that crosses the road near Mr. Edwards’s property, and commonly known as Edwards’s Creek, latterly the only one unbridged on the road between this place and Peria, has now a fine substantial structure across it. Mr. Turbott and party have been engaged upon this bridge for the last few weeks. The work has been carried out with the skill and expedition that characterise everything undertaken by this party, and the builders have now moved on to Fairbum where they have another bridge to erect, after which they return to Victoria Valley to construct a breakwater in the river adjacent to Mr. Thompson’s farm, to prevent the stream from encroaching on the road, an event which seems highly probable unless protective measures are taken without delay.
