A CURIOUS HOUSEHOLD PET.

| A journalist tolls of a small pig I which takes its food from a baby’s feeding bottle, and refuses to drink 1 milk in any other way. It was • taken from its mother when five days old to be a household pet. For three weeks it was fed from a bottle as carefully as any baby j At first it was necessary to hold I the pig and force the bottle into its | mouth in order to make it eat, but ! it soon learned what the bottle was, and a mere sight of it would set the ! pig squealing. In a few days it knew who its mistress was, and 1 would follow her about town like a ! dog, except at meal times, when it j would not leave the house. ! The sight of the small pig trotting along the street always caused much 1 merriment among any strangers in I the town, unless they were farmers, i They looked upon the sight with in- | finite disgust. It is very much like a puppy. It chews up everything it can get hold of, frisks around the yard and sleeps l in a dog house with an Irish setter. It takes great delight in teasing the j dog by pulling its tail, biting and •rooting it, and grunting violently when the dog tries to sleep. It makes long visits to the house and shows a marked preference for the parlour. It will lie down by the piano and remain perfectly quiet as long as anyone will play, and' when the music stops it starts grunting, either to show its approval of the music or disapproval of the stopping.
