WAIMATE NORTH.

(From our own Correspondent.)

I learn that the dancing olass under the guidance of Mr. R, F. Neilson has been resumed at Ohaeawai, commencing last Saturday evening, and these evenings will probably be continued through the winter months.

One of Mr. M. Hargreaves’s little girls met with a most painful accident the other day through her clothes catching fire. Details are not to hand, for the local medico being away on volunteer business the girl was sent direct to the Whangarei hospital.

Mrs. John Adkins, of Oromahoe, has presented her hubby with a girl.

Mr. and Mrs. T. Knox havo been blessed with a further addition to their fatuity. Tho young hopeful has already received the name of Charley and we presume that, following in his father’s footsteps, he will some day be a mail contractor.

Mr. Geo. Bedggood is at present busy carting material for the new house which he is about to have built. There is something in dairying even if it is a great tie to a person’s liberty. This gentleman has milked his 25 cows without assistance throughout the past season. The bachelors’ ball given at Okaihau on the 12th instant was a great success and reflects much credit on the committee. Miss M. Hansen was the belle. Mr. W. Pringle’s company supplied the music.
