Lately he was ordered "on a private mission,” and rather than obey the command he left Naples secretly with his wife. The young wife woke up one morning at the boarding-house where they were staying and found her husband lying dead by her side with a stiletto in his heart.

On the stiletto the word "Oomorra” had been engraved. This fact left no doubt as to who had committed the crime and when the police heard of it they refused to take any action.
