Football.

A meeting of those interested in the formation of a football club in Mangonui was held in Mrs. Berghan’s hotel on Saturday evening last. Mr, R. T. Wrathall occupied the chair. Mr. Houston, M.H.R., was elected patron; Mi*. Hertslet, President; and Messrs. T. Wallen, (3. Reinhardt, J. Letters, W. J. Harris and Dr. Forbes, vice-presidents. Mr. C. Hands was appointed captain for the season, Mr. A. O. Quartley secretary and treasurer, and Mr. E. Borgban sole selector. The membership fee was fixed at 2/6, and the club’s colours are to be bine and black, with white knickers. The selection of a committee was deferred until members’ names are before the Club to select from. The question of joining the Union was also deferred until the next meeting. Meanwhile the secretaries of the surrounding clubs will bo communicated with.
