Those Runaways.

TO THE EDITOR. 8ir fc —Re my horses bolting from the factor}' the other day, there is an old saying “ Honor to whom' honor is due.” Your correspondent is slightly in error when he says the drivers of two bullock teams stopped them. It was due to Mr. Albert Maria’s pluck and foresight that they were stopped. He had to run aVwt a quarter of a mile before he got on *<tne road at all and he hit one horse across the head with a small kauri batten before he got hold of the reins and then they carried him about two chains before he pulled them up. 1 here thank Mr. Maria again for his timely aid. Kia ora a hot. W. G. PROSSER. Maungatoitoi, January 7, 1007.
